Saved By The Belt…

I can’t believe that I am even typing this. The excitement and thrill that I used to have when shopping is no longer there – online or instore, its not there. It was not unusual for me to experience the following shopaholic symptoms – heart palpitations, shaky hands and squeal of excitement when I finally sourced the illusive clothing item or accessory. This is not happening anymore – *squints eyes and places hand on chin whilst in deep thought. In my best Carrie Bradshaw voice, “Is this a phase or can a woman be satisfied with the contents in their wardrobe?”.

One look at my wardrobe tells me that I haven’t reached that level of contentment, just yet. To be honest I am not sure if I can ever really have an answer for that question, but for now I do know that I am enjoying playing dress up in my wardrobe, creating new looks with accessories – until I get my shopping mojo back.

Breaking Bad…

A non-rough stuff type of deal. You see the Doc Martens on my feet have been in my shoe closet for almost six months. Prior to this photo op, I had only worn them once. Gasp! Some what shocking I know, was this purchase a bad investment?

A true shoe collector, lover or hoarder would never admit to that. Truth be told this classic shoe for me adds an element of edginess to any outfit – but at this point the shoes are so ridiculously new that they are super painful and need to be broken in; bad.

So as I stuff the inside of my Doc Martens with a wet sock to stretch them (mama said it would help), the jury is still out on the return of investment.

Confidence Has No Budget…

I had the idea of wearing a jump suit to work during the week. Sounds pretty awesome in my opinion and relatively harmless. In all honesty its not quite at the “she needs to be committed to pschiatric hospital” level just yet – but close enough.

Let me explain. You see, whilst you might feel and look like you are “killing it” a Onesie/Jumpsuit/One Piece Suit/Romper, call it what you want, in my own personal experience is not practical for the office environment. Take a bathroom trip for instance, what would normally be in a relatively easy process, now becomes a 20 minute navigation course. #AintNobodyGotTimeForThat

…Still got love for the jump suit though, will just be selective about where I wear it.

Love Is In The Air…

Love is in the air everywhere I look around
Love is in the air every sight and every sound

After reading that you are probably going to have that song stuck in your head all day – sorry about that!

Weddings are such a joyous occasion, but they are such a great opportunity for couples to show case their unique style.

The first photo has my boo and I posing with the groom and beautiful bride. Looking back it seems on the day the ladies were all about colour, whilst the gentlemen mostly let the grey suits do the talking. Definitely something for everyone.

In Yellow…

I tend not to wear all yellow everything – particularly with when sporting my big hair. This is mainly because of my intrinsic fear of looking like a hot mess or Big Bird.

Fashion nightmares aside, I attended a wedding over the weekend, which was an infusion – African and Aboriginal cultures. For the occasion I donned this dress, adding royal blue accessories – BAM. I am not afraid to fly

Primal Instinct…

There  is something about having extra big hair that ignites a stronger connection to my more tribal roots. Combining nature, spirituality, tradition with this BIG hair and my eclectic fashion I am bound to showcase something expressive that will surely appeal to a wide range of people.
