Plans For New Years Eve?

I am feeling uber relaxed after spending a good week hibernating. Feeling Good, Feeling Great.

Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day etc are designated family days for most people. It’s New Year’s Eve that is generally spent with friends and significant others.

Every bar, restaurant, hot spot is doing its best to market their offerings to allure you, me to their ‘location’. Promising the world, whilst ironically costing the earth.

I have had some friends send text messages asking what I have planned, tossing around tentative arrangements etc.

Last year I dogged the world because I wanted to spend New Years Eve with my significant other. This year I am looking for an ‘experience’ to bring in 2014. Something outdoors, beach, out door fire, friends who are super merry – forging memories to last a life time.

Let The Festivities Begin!

Hello, I have missed you…

Since we last spoke, I have switched up my hair and now have a straight hair sew in. Hmmm, I am still getting used to it.

The last week has been a blur. I had been busy finishing up work for the year (woot woot) and organizing the family Christmas celebrations – location, theme, food, attendees. Hectic.

The day is finally here. Even with all the activity on Christmas Day, I managed to sneak out to capture my outfit. I consider leopard print to be a neutral colour – so your won’t find the traditional red and white here!

I will be taking the next few days off – to get some much needed rest. For this reason my posts will not be as frequent

Thank you for yet another great year, I want to thank you for your support. Please stay safe during this Christmas and holiday season.

Perfectly Captures The Feeling…

Dunno about ya’ll but I am tired! I just feel like 2013 has taken almost everything out of me – emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually. It’s my last full working week for 2013 (2days to go).

I am really looking forward to having two weeks with my man, my family, friends and most importantly some me time so I can recharge and come back in beast mode in 2014.

P.S. Decision Made: the braided bob is no more! I am undoing my hair as you read this. What will I have next? I will make a call in the morning….x …

Throw Back Thursday – Big Hair Don’t Care!

If you read my earlier post, Pretty Hurts, Takes Time Too – you would know that I spend 2.5 weeks of the year doing my hair. Fact.

I take photos. Lots of photos, some of them may never see light of day – but occasionally I fall in love with them again – thus this throw back blog post. Does it count if its only from a year ago? I guess…

When I saw these pictures I realised really miss my big and curly hair. Point. Blank, Period. The braided bob that I am currently sporting at the moment was a hairstyle that i have always wanted to have. We are close to the end of this year so why not make sure I reach my 2.5 week average? So….If I can manage to get myself organised, this curly haired dream captured here might be realised sooner rather than later.

Doesn’t Matter If You Wear Black Or White…

Looking at my smiling face, its hard to believe that at that time I could barely feel my feet. True Story. Its amazing that the need to capture a picture perfect moment allows you to forget your pain for a split second.

Its graduation season here in the Southern Hemisphere am we have been invited to our fair share of celebratory dinners, parties etc. This night was no exception. I also came to the realisation that next year it will be ten years since I graduated from university.

Some people say your degrees won’t keep you warm and night – but for me the hunger to learn more still prevails.

I’m A Grown Woman…

I can do whatever I want. I can be bad if I want. I can say what I want. I can live fast if I want. I can go slow all night long. I’m a grown woman. I can do whatever I want. Whatever it is.

Those words resonate deeply with me; my inner voice often whispers those words to me.

Last week I just about hyperventilated after finding out the news that King Bey had released a surprise album – she is a beast, we know she has the talent but were does she get the time?.

I did something unheard off for our generation – I supported a real artist by buying a legitimate copy of Beyoncé’s album from ITunes – like she needs any more money. No regrets because the album came with some breath taking videos, telling the story of each song. One word. WOW.

That woman can do no wrong in my eyes. A sister, wife, mother and inspirational artist to women around the world.
